Start with the department, not the resort photograph
A hotel advert can show a beautiful pool while telling you very little about the job. For work in Antalya, first identify the department, property and employing company. Housekeeping, kitchen support, restaurant service and reception involve different routines and skills. Use this guide to compare the work and the contract, including any accommodation or meals mentioned in an offer.

Your hotel offer comparison worksheet
| Compare | Offer A | Offer B |
|---|---|---|
| Property and department | ________ | ________ |
| Contract dates and normal hours | ________ | ________ |
| Gross pay and deductions | ________ | ________ |
| Room sharing, location and charges | ________ | ________ |
| Meals and shift transport | ________ | ________ |
| Required authorisation confirmed | ________ | ________ |
Before deciding, highlight every unanswered item. Ask the recruiter to confirm those details rather than filling the gaps with assumptions. Keep the signed terms, vacancy and employer contact together.
Find the hotel role that fits your skills
Compare the everyday work
| Department | Typical focus | Useful evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Housekeeping | Preparing rooms, handling linen and reporting maintenance issues | Following a checklist and checking the finish of a task |
| Laundry | Sorting, processing and organising linen | Careful handling, counting and time management |
| Kitchen support | Preparing work areas and assisting a kitchen team | Hygiene awareness and following instructions |
| Restaurant service | Setting up service and responding to guests | Listening, teamwork and accurate orders |
| Reception / guest relations | Handling enquiries, information and records | Languages, clear communication and organised administration |
A role described as “hotel staff” is too vague to evaluate. Ask for a job description and reporting line. Specialist kitchen, spa, maintenance and lifeguarding positions can require specific qualifications; a general willingness to learn is not a substitute for an essential credential.
Think about the property and location
Search by the actual property as well as the wider Antalya region. A city hotel and a resort farther along the coast can have very different commuting options. If a recruiter mentions Belek, Kemer, Side or Alanya, confirm the precise workplace and where staff housing would be located.
Use official chain career portals, such as Accor Careers, and filter by Türkiye, location and department. The portal provides a route to published opportunities; it does not establish that a particular Antalya hotel is currently hiring or sponsoring overseas applicants. Save the vacancy reference and apply through the linked official process.
Make your CV specific to hospitality
Describe what you actually did in previous work. “Helped customers” becomes more useful when you explain the setting, the request and your response. A first-time applicant can use volunteering or a school event, clearly labelled as such. Keep guest names and private information out of examples.
- Housekeeping: explain how you organised tasks and checked completion.
- Kitchen: show that you can follow instructions and keep a work area orderly.
- Restaurant: give an example of listening, checking a request and coordinating with others.
- Reception: describe accurate records, a clear explanation or a resolved enquiry.
List languages with a realistic description of your level. If you have completed relevant training, give its name and date. Avoid claiming a qualification after only watching a video or reading a guide.
Check the seasonal contract carefully
A seasonal offer needs clear start and end dates. Ask whether training takes place before the paid start date, how the roster is arranged and what happens if the property changes its opening schedule. Returning next season is a possibility to discuss, not a benefit to assume.
| Offer detail | Question to ask |
|---|---|
| Salary | What is the gross amount, normal working time and payment date? |
| Overtime / tips | How are extra hours authorised, and how are tips handled? |
| Accommodation | What is provided, how many people share, and what are the charges? |
| Meals | Which meals are available, including on days off? |
| Transport | How do staff travel between accommodation and the property? |
| End of contract | When must housing be vacated, and what travel costs remain? |
Keep promised benefits in the written terms. “Free stay” in a social-media headline does not establish what a particular employer provides. Build a simple monthly budget using confirmed deductions, transport and personal costs; do not rely on uncertain tips to make the budget work.
Confirm the legal route before starting
Foreign applicants need the work authorisation appropriate to their circumstances. Türkiye’s labour ministry explains work-permit and exemption rules, including the process involving the consulate and employer for applications from abroad. Use its official guidance to check the route before starting work. A hotel booking, tourist entry or informal promise of sponsorship is not a work permit.
Prepare for the interview
- Read the hotel’s own description of the property and the advertised department.
- Prepare one example of teamwork and one of handling a difficult request.
- Practise explaining a task clearly without claiming experience you do not have.
- Write down questions about training, shifts, pay and accommodation.
- After the interview, request the offer in writing and check that the property and role match your application.
For a guest complaint, a useful answer explains how you would listen, confirm the problem, act within your authority and involve a supervisor when needed. For a cleaning or kitchen task, explain how you would follow the employer’s procedure and report a hazard instead of improvising with unfamiliar equipment or chemicals.
Common questions
Can I apply without hotel experience?
Look for vacancies that explicitly accept beginners and describe their training. Transferable experience helps, but entry requirements vary by department and employer.
Are accommodation and meals always included?
No universal package should be assumed. Confirm the actual provision, deductions, location and rules in writing.
Does a seasonal job become permanent?
Only a later offer can confirm that. Evaluate the contract you are given on its own terms.
Keep a dated copy of each vacancy and a short record of your application. If the employer changes the role, workplace or pay, request an updated written offer before deciding. Use the related guides to compare another type of work or improve your application.
Vacancies change. Confirm the role, employer and application instructions at the destination before sharing documents.
