Cleaning teams help stadiums and event venues prepare for visitors and return to normal after an event. If you are exploring this work in France, start with the actual employer, workplace and shift pattern. Two jobs with the same title can offer very different hours. This guide explains common duties, useful search terms, the questions to ask about pay and a straightforward application process.

Your stadium cleaning application checklist
Complete this for one real vacancy. Mark each item confirmed, unclear or missing, then ask the employer about the gaps before making a commitment.
| Item to check | Your notes |
|---|---|
| Employer, vacancy reference and official link | ________________ |
| Exact venue and staff entrance | ________________ |
| Duties, equipment and induction | ________________ |
| Contract type and guaranteed hours | ________________ |
| Gross pay, supplements and deductions | ________________ |
| Start and finish times; transport home | ________________ |
| Language and work-authorisation requirements | ________________ |
| Application date and follow-up contact | ________________ |
Finish with a practical question: “What would my first shift involve, and who will show me the tasks?” Keep the answer beside the original advert and the written offer.
Find a role that fits your availability
What stadium cleaning work can involve
Depending on the contract, a cleaner may work before an event, maintain visitor areas while it runs, or join a team after the crowd leaves. Tasks can include collecting litter, cleaning seating areas and floors, replenishing washroom supplies and sorting waste. Hospitality areas, concourses and staff facilities may each have separate instructions.
The employer should explain the exact area assigned to you, the equipment involved and the procedures for that venue. Do not assume a general cleaning vacancy includes every stadium task. Work at height, specialised machinery and hazardous materials require appropriate training and authorisation.
| Part of the shift | What to clarify |
|---|---|
| Before an event | Start time, assigned areas and how completion is checked |
| During an event | Public access, washroom checks and the supervisor to contact |
| After an event | Expected finish time, team size and transport home |
| Between events | Whether hours are guaranteed or depend on bookings |
Search for the right role in French
Useful terms include agent de propreté, agent d’entretien and agent de nettoyage. Add the town and a venue term such as stade or événementiel. A search for stadium work may also return hospitality, security or maintenance positions, so read the duties before applying.
The legal employer may be a cleaning contractor rather than the stadium itself. Search both the venue’s official careers page and the contractor named in the advert. Confirm whether the role is attached to one location or involves travelling between sites.
- Check the vacancy date and whether applications are still open.
- Record the job reference, town and exact workplace.
- Check permanent, fixed-term, temporary or event-based contract terms.
- Keep a copy of the full advert and use the official application route.
Where to look for current openings
Onet’s official cleaning-careers page explains several cleaning roles and links to recruitment opportunities. It describes tasks including maintaining premises, using appropriate equipment and sorting waste. Use the employer’s vacancy filters to check what is actually available near your chosen location.
Atalian’s official vacancies page is another place to search for cleaning and facilities positions. These links are starting points for a job search, not confirmation of a stadium vacancy, overseas recruitment or a particular salary. Requirements depend on the individual listing.
If an advert names a stadium, compare it with the venue’s own information and the contractor’s official contact details. Contact the employer through a number or address found independently if a message seems unusual. Avoid relying on a screenshot of an advert without its original source.
Can someone without experience apply?
Some cleaning vacancies offer an introduction to the work; others ask for experience, equipment knowledge or supervisory ability. Apply where the advert matches your current level. Explain what you have done honestly, including transferable experience from hospitality, housekeeping, warehouse work or another practical role.
For a first application, describe reliability, following a routine and working with others through a specific example. State your actual language level and ask which language is used for instructions. Understanding a supervisor’s safety guidance matters more than listing language skills you cannot demonstrate.
- Ask what induction and task-specific training are included.
- Confirm who supplies required clothing, protective equipment and cleaning products.
- Ask who supervises new starters and how problems should be reported.
- Clarify any lifting, prolonged standing or other physical demands before accepting.
Compare pay and hours together
Use the written offer to compare gross pay, contracted hours and any supplements. A monthly headline is not enough if one job provides fewer guaranteed hours or depends on the event calendar. Ask whether the quoted amount is hourly, monthly or annual and whether extra hours are included.
| Offer detail | Question to ask |
|---|---|
| Guaranteed hours | How many paid hours are included, and over what period? |
| Base pay | What is the gross rate and the applicable job classification? |
| Extra shifts | How are extra hours, nights, Sundays or holidays treated? |
| Cancelled events | What happens to my scheduled hours if an event changes? |
| Travel and equipment | What is provided, reimbursed or deducted? |
For illustration only, a hypothetical shift paid at €13 gross per hour for six paid hours would produce €78 gross before any applicable deductions or supplements. This is an arithmetic example, not a current legal minimum or a promise of market pay. Compare real offers on the same basis and request a written explanation of anything unclear.
Plan for the actual shift, including the journey home
Events can finish later than ordinary office hours. Before accepting a shift, check the expected finish time, whether it can change and how you will get home. A stadium near a railway station may still be difficult to leave after the final service has departed.
Ask where staff enter, how early you should arrive and whether a badge or access check is needed. Clarify breaks, changing facilities and the contact for a delayed arrival. If you will work across several venues, ask whether travel between assignments is part of the working day and how arrangements are documented.
Choose availability you can maintain. Saying that you are available every night may attract attention initially but causes problems if transport or other commitments make that impossible. Clear limits help the employer match you to a suitable schedule.
Prepare a short application
Use a clear CV with your contact details, location, availability, relevant experience, training and languages. Keep the most useful information near the top. Describe genuine tasks rather than broad claims such as “expert in all cleaning work.”
You can adapt this message: “I am applying for [job reference] at [location]. My relevant experience is [truthful example]. I am available for [days and times] and can reach the workplace by [transport]. Please confirm the shift pattern, expected duties and training for a new starter.”
If you have no paid cleaning experience, explain one relevant example from another setting and state that you are seeking an entry-level position. Save the application date, employer and next step in a simple list. That makes it easier to follow up without sending the same message repeatedly.
Documents and permission to work
Ask the verified employer what documents are needed at each stage. A CV may be appropriate for an initial application; identity and employment paperwork should be shared through the employer’s verified process. Avoid sending sensitive documents to an unknown social-media account simply because it claims to recruit for a well-known venue.
Work-authorisation requirements depend on nationality and immigration status. Check the French government’s guidance on employing a foreign worker and the relevant official advice for your situation before planning a move. A vacancy, questionnaire result or interview invitation does not itself grant permission to work. This guide does not promise sponsorship, accommodation or travel assistance.
Before accepting, confirm the legal employer, location, contract, pay and start date in writing. Be cautious of payments requested to reserve an interview or guarantee a job. Verify the organisation and the purpose of any requested payment independently.
Common questions
Are these confirmed vacancies?
No. This page is an editorial guide to the type of work and the application process. Follow the official employer links and check their current openings.
Is French always required?
The required level depends on the role and employer. Ask which language is used for training and day-to-day instructions; state your own level accurately.
Does stadium cleaning mean full-time work?
Not necessarily. The contract may cover regular venue work, particular events or temporary shifts. Confirm the guaranteed hours and schedule before comparing offers.
Do the questionnaire answers change the jobs shown?
No. Everyone receives the same guide and checklist. The answers are not an employment assessment or application.
What does the optional ad unlock?
It unlocks this guide and its application checklist for the stated access period. It does not provide a job offer or submit an application.
